Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026.

This policy explains what personal information QuickIT Support collects, why, what is done with it, and how long it is kept. It is written to meet the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), in plain language. If anything is unclear, ask.

Who is responsible

QuickIT Support is operated by Quick IT Technologies Inc., London, Ontario, which is accountable for the personal information it holds. Privacy questions, access requests and complaints: info@quickitsupport.ca or 519-686-6250.

What is never asked for

Your passwords are never requested, written down or stored. When a password needs to change, you type it yourself while the steps are explained. If a password is offered, it will be declined.

Also never asked for: your Social Insurance Number, your online banking sign-in, your card number over the phone, or payment in gift cards or cryptocurrency. Anyone claiming to be from QuickIT Support who asks for any of these is not.

What is collected

  • When you call, email or book: your name, phone number, email address, street address for the visit, and the description of the problem.
  • During the visit: notes about the problem, what was done to fix it, and any parts used. Your personal files are accessed only as far as the repair requires, and are not copied or kept.
  • Payment: records of what was charged and paid. Card numbers are not seen or stored; card payments go directly to the payment processor.
  • This website: basic visit statistics collected by the hosting platform, not used to identify individuals.

Why it is collected

  • To answer your enquiry and book a visit.
  • To come to your home and do the work you asked for.
  • To bill you and make the follow-up call two days after your visit.
  • To keep a service history so a future visit goes faster.
  • To keep the business records Canadian tax law requires.

Your information is not used for anything else without asking you first.

Consent

Contacting QuickIT Support and booking a visit is your consent to use your information to respond and do the work. You can withdraw consent at any time; some records must still be kept for the period tax law requires. You will not be added to a marketing list. Any newsletter will be something you choose to join, with an unsubscribe link in every message, as CASL requires.

Who it is shared with

Your personal information is never sold, rented or traded. It is shared only with:

  • Service providers that run the business: website host, email, phone, record-keeping and payment processing. They use it only to provide those services.
  • An accountant, for tax filing, financial records only.
  • Another provider, only with your agreement, if your job needs a referral.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it, such as a court order.

Where it is stored

Some of these service providers store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.

How long it is kept

  • Enquiries that do not become a visit: deleted within 90 days.
  • Notes about a hacked or compromised account: deleted within 12 months of the job closing, or sooner if you ask.
  • Invoices and financial records: kept six years after the end of the tax year, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires.

How it is protected

Accounts holding your information use strong passwords and two-step verification, and access is limited to the people doing your work. If a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, you would be told and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada would be notified, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask what information is held about you, get a copy, ask for corrections, ask for deletion where it is not required to be kept, and withdraw consent. Email or call; you will get an answer within 30 days, free of charge. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at 1-800-282-1376 or priv.gc.ca.
